WHOOP it’s football season! Just as in years past we will be offering our Package Football Special (3 services for $175 or 4 for $200 up to ½ acre). If you are planning on watching the games outside and want to focus on the game and not the bugs, give us a call and make sure that the mosquitoes are the only things getting sacked this football season!
If you are lucky enough to be heading to Kyle Field on the 9th, 16th, or 30th this month be sure to cheer for us too. Go Aggies!
We will be putting together our annual local football schedule for our customers – featuring all the local high school and college games along with times and locations, so if you don’t see it in your mailbox, give us a call or shoot us an email and we will be sure to get one to you!
September heralds in the possibility of cooler temperatures, the kind that means you can be outside without melting. I think we are all ready for a little break from the heat, especially after the mild winter we had last year. We also celebrate International Bacon Day (yum!) on the 2nd of this month and National Coffee Day on the 29th. Here at Mosquito Joe, the majority of us lean to Coffeemate with a dash of coffee while a rare few prefer it black.
Since it is still so hot we love trying our hands at some iced coffee options. One recipe we highly recommend is so simple, but so delicious. Simply mix 8 cups of strong coffee with a 14oz can of condensed milk and chill. Serve over ice. It’s the perfect way to enjoy your coffee and stay cool!
Locally, September offers some amazing fun options for you:
Don’t forget first Friday in downtown Bryan! The fun begins on September 1st around 5:30 p.m. and starts to bustle by dusk. Stores stay open late, so you can peruse the shops, enjoy street musicians, magic acts and taste great food from food trucks and delicious restaurants. The Palace Theater often features free concerts from school groups and bands. Head on over and start the weekend off right!
On September 16th, head to downtown Montgomery to enjoy the Montgomery Wine & Music Festival. Admission is free and you can spend the day listening to great Texas music while sampling wines from 16 wineries across the state. You can also check out the craft beer and the children’s play area. Check them out on Facebook here for more information.
Celebrating the 10th Annual Texas Reds Festival is a must. Short for the Texas Reds Steak and Grape Festival and held on September 22-24th in Downtown Bryan, you can enjoy music, food and vendors as well as craft beers and wines. Steak specials are available throughout the weekend. You are best off parking at Blinn and taking the free Park and Ride. Steak cook-off, wine stomping, kids’ activities and more are waiting for you. Visit their website to get answers to all your questions and more information.
Finally, enjoy Beetles, Brew & BBQ on September 30th in downtown Tomball from 11:30 – 6:30. More than 150 classic VW Beetles line the streets while vendors serve delicious Texas BBQ and craft beers. Plenty of things for the kids too, so don’t miss it. Admission is free!
